The Arts Council is committed to operating to the highest standards of corporate governance and has adopted a corporate governance regime in accordance with best practice. To this end the Council has put in place a Code of Governance Framework which consists of a suite of governance documents setting out the policies, procedures and responsibilities which guide how the Council conducts its business.

Laureate for Irish Fiction Sebastian Barry brings Life Lines, the Laureate for Irish Fiction Book Club, to a number of health settings this August. The book club aims to engage readers across a variety of distinct and harder to reach settings with contemporary Irish fiction.

The Film Artist in Residence role is jointly funded by the Arts Council and UCC and is offered in association with the Cork Film Festival. It is designed to provide a screenwriter of distinction with a unique opportunity to develop his/her practice in a university environment, while offering students the opportunity to engage with a practising artist in a meaningful way during the course of their studies.

Support for European Co-operation Projects is the main Creative Europe funding strand for arts and culture projects. The call for applications is expected to be published in the third quarter of 2018 with a deadline before the end of the year.  

Aerowaves the European dance platform with partners in 33 countries identifies the most promising new work by emerging dance artists and promotes it through cross-border performances enabling emerging choreographers to bring brand new dance to brand new audiences.  

This call for tenders aims to define and test a cross-border mobility scheme for artists and culture professionals which will pave the way for the full implementation of a mobility scheme for artists within the new 2021-2027 Creative Europe programme.
