Arts Council to commission review of venues network
The Arts Council and local government (through the County and City Management Association – CCMA) are commissioning an independent, strategic review of the network of venues and arts centres across the country. The review will focus on the infrastructure of professionally-managed arts buildings that are open to the public throughout the year, and will be used to help develop a co-ordinated, spatially-informed strategy to support and develop the built infrastructure for the arts. This has come about as a result of the agreement signed in 2016 between the Arts Council and local government, A Framework for Collaboration and the review is a part of the goals of this agreement. A consultation phase has been incorporated into the study, and all stakeholders will have the opportunity to participate. A Request for Tender has been published and a description of the proposed review is contained in these documents.
