National Arts Sector Training Needs Analysis

The Arts Council is working with Galway2020 and NUIG to undertake a National Arts Sector Training Needs Analysis.

In its recently published 3-year plan the Arts Council makes two distinct commitments to supporting professional development needs in the sector.  A national arts sector training needs analysis will be a first step in helping the Arts Council to shape and inform the delivery of these commitments.

The initiative is undertaken within the context of the MOU between the Arts Council and Galway 2020 in which there is a commitment to create opportunities for future partnerships and networks, that will have a lasting impact on the arts ecology in Ireland. As an Official Legacy Partner of Galway2020, NUIG will utilise the findings to support the development of current and potential new MA programmes in the field of arts management and cultural production.

The Arts Council is planning to provide a link to the survey in its February Newsletter and will be encouraging all those working in the arts and cultural sector to engage.
