The Arts Council's Equality, Human Rights and Diversity (EHRD) Policy was launched in March 2019, at the 'Places Matter' conference in NUIG.   This is a priority policy for the Arts Council, ensuring the arts sector is an inclusive space for everyone.  Following a competitive call-out for a Project Lead, we were delighted to appoint Olwen Dawe, to deliver the first year of the policy's implementation plan. As part of the initial phase of  implementation, the EHRD policy is now available in a number of languages, on our website.  Applicants for individual awards will also note some new fields relating to gender, ethnicity and disability on our applications forms; the purpose of this is to ensure the Arts Council is as well informed as possible about who it is reaching and the information provided will have no bearing at all on the assessment of those applications.
