Project Arts Centre and Arts & Disability Ireland have a long history of supporting artists and are working together to support artists with disabilities to produce high-quality work for presentation.

For Project Arts Centre, this is an exciting opportunity to extend its supports for artists, and to present ambitious new work that reflects the complexity of contemporary life in Ireland to a diverse audience.  This award is supported by the Project 50 Commissioning Fund.

Arts & Disability Ireland have identified the need for a production award through its experience of managing the Arts and Disability Connect funding scheme for artists with disabilities. This production award will fund an artist to produce and present a new work, which is beyond the scope of the current scheme.

Production Workshop
All artists interested in submitting an expression of interest application are encouraged to attend a pre-application Production Workshop with Producer Lucy Ryan on Monday 5 November, 12pm – 2pm at Project Arts Centre. Representatives from Project Arts Centre and Arts & Disability Ireland will also be present.
Please rsvp to
realise@projectartscentre.ie. The workshop space is accessible to wheelchair users. To request additional access, contact Amie Lawless, Arts & Disability Ireland, by email realise@adiarts.ie or by phone 01 8509002. Please try to contact us as soon as possible with your request.

What artforms are eligible?
Individual artists with disabilities working in theatre and contemporary dance are eligible to apply.

How we define new work?

For the purposes of the Realise award, we define new work as work that has not already been produced for presentation in a venue or festival.  Work in development, that has been presented as staged readings or work in progress events, will be considered for the Realise award.

Timeline and application information
Artists are invited to submit an expression of interest application by Thursday 15th November at 4pm.
