Arts Council Climate Action Policy and Implementation Plan
 |
The climate crisis is unfolding rapidly and action at scale and speed is required from all of us. The Arts Council has embarked on a new project to understand what we can do to support the arts community to take action and get to grips with climate action ourselves. We are delighted to announce that we are doing this in partnership with Julie’s Bicycle EU, a team which brings a wealth of experience from home and abroad – from Julie’s Bicycle’s experience with international cultural policy-making and 10 years as partner for Arts Council England’s environmental programme, to the pioneering work of Native Events and the Green Arts Initiative in Ireland to bring sustainable practices to Irish events and green Irish arts venues.
The Arts Council’s Climate Action Policy and Implementation plan is being developed in consultation with Arts Council staff, artists, arts organisations, and other key stakeholders. As part of this consultation process we are undertaking a survey of the arts sector – artists, arts organisations and independent arts workers - and would greatly value your input. The survey should take no more than 20 minutes and is available here. It closes 6pm, June 17th.
